BOOTCAMP ABBEYLEIX

OUTING

The Ballinakill Annual Active Retirement outing will take place on Thursday 30th August. Bus will leave Square at 10.30am. Active Retiremant will commence after the summer break on Wednesday 12th September at 1pm. New members welcome.

LATE BROTHER JAMES MORAN

The death took place on Tuesday last of Brother James Moran, a native of Longford who transferred to the staff of the Abbeyleix National School in 1980. Br James became deeply involved at juvenille level and was appointed vice chairman of the juvenille board in 1983. He later became chairman but will be best remembered for his work with underage plaers in his adopted town of Abbeyleix. Along with the late Larry Hearns he was responsible for the success of the Abbeyleix club obver many years. Br James was laid to rest in Abbeyleix last Thursday morning. Ar dheis de go raibh anaim.

ABBEYLEIX AFC

the season kicked off last Sunday with both Senior teams in action. the a team had a tough encounter at home to willow park and they were very unlucky to lose 2 - 1

with Joe bergin getting the goal. the b team travelled to portarlington to face C.R. forest and they had a 2 nil victory, christy lalor getting both goals.

Training continues on Tuesday and thursday nights in the park at 8pm. registration and insurance is still due at €60 for seniors and €40 for students.
