New Years Day Walk

Keep a date on New Years Day with the annual Ballacolla Off The Beaten Track 6km walk. Pony, Vintage and Hi Nelly display. Starts Ballacolla Village at 2pm usual half way Christmas cheer stop with refreshments also at finish. Great day assured .

AGM

The AGM of The Woodenbridge District Community Alert will be held on Wednesday December 12 in Newtown Mill at 8pm. Garda Pat Neary will attend officially for the last time also in attendance will be Patricia Johnson manager of Help Link South [monitored alarm providers]. On the night the €5 per house membership will be collected.

Sports Capital Programme

The Woodenbridge Paddlers were granted €5,000 from the Sports Capital Programme.

Aghaboe Community alert

Wish to remind everyone who has a personal alarm to press the pendant and make sure it is working with the long nights now safety is very important Aghaboe Community alert were nominated for a reward at the Laois Community Forum awards night for the service they provide to the elderly in the community. ICA

Clough ICA and ABC club members joined for their Christmas party in Castle Arms Hotel Durrow on Wednesday last, a most enjoyable meal and entertainment was had by all. President of Clough Guild Noreen Byrne and Chairperson of the ABC Catherine Coss wished every one a happy and safe Christmas. Clough ICA were nominated for an award at the Community forum Awards night recently for providing social outlets and friendships for women in the area since 1955.

Santa Claus

Santy will arrive by Pony and Trap to the Hawthirn Lounge on Sunday December 16 to help raise funds for the Senior Citizens Party. All welcome
