Garda Declan Quinlan has been assigned from the Abbeyleix Garda Station to cover the Ballacolla area in the wake of the closure of the village station stated. Garda Chief Superintendent John Scanlon at last week’s public meeting.

Fianna Fail AGM

The Annual General Meeting of Ballacolla Fianna Fail Cummain was held on Saturday Febuary 2 in St Patricks Hall. The attendance included Sean Fleming TD along with Cllrs John Joe Fennelly and Brendan Phelan. The following officers were elected Preident Liam Hyland, Vice President James Hennebery, Chairman Michael G Phelan,Vice Chairman Sean Byrne, Secretary Noreen Byrne, Treasure Michael Dunphy Snr. Assistant Treasure Barry Hyland, Youth Officer Liam Hyland Jnr.
