Kids and Koffee

Parent, baby and toddler group. Every Friday we meet in the community hall for a chat and a play from 10am til 12pm. Grandparents, childminders are also welcome. We are holding our AGM on Friday October 19 at 10.30am in the hall, before refreshments.

Ballyroan ICA

Ladies resumed on Tuesday September 4 at 8pm in the Sue Ryder House presided over by Kathleen Scully. Kathleen opened the meeting by congratulating Kathleen Gorman on her election as national secretary. Raffle winners on the night were Maureen Cahill, Carmel Mc Enery and Elizabeth Quinlan. Votes of sympathy were passed with the Scully and Lalor families on their recent bereavement also with the family of Brother James recently deceased. The annual table quiz and draw will take place on Saturday December 8 in Whelans Lounge Ballyroan. Supper was served by Kathleen Scully and Maureen Brennan. Next meeting will be on Tuesday October 9. Hostesses are Peggy Brennan and Maureen Troy.

FANCY DRESS PARTY

Saturday October 20 at 9pm in Whelan’s Lounge. The themes this year are the movies: Pirates of the Carribean U8s, Gone With The Wind U10s, Wizard of Oz U12s, Star Wars U14s, Fame U16s and Calamity Jane/Custard’s Last Stand for the minors. The fancy dress is open to all the community and everyone is promised a great night out.

ATHLETIC CLUB NEWS

Training has resumed in the GAA pitch every Tuesday evening at 7.30pm. We would welcome parents to participate with their kids in getting fit for life. All levels are catered for and is open to all. There is a charge of €1 each or €2 per family. Keep an eye on Ballyroan Abbeyleix and District’s facebook page for updates.
