DEATH
The death took place in Dublin last week Annie (Maria) Maher (nee Doran) daughter of John and Mrs Doran Lacca. Maria was the last member of the Doran family, she was wife of the late John Maher a native of Knockaroo. She is survived by her son annd daughter. She was predeceased by her brothers, Jimmy who also lived in Dublin, Tim in Clonin and Rev. Fr Stan (john) and her sisters Mollie Maher and Catherine Keenan. She had reached the great age of 94 years. To all her family we extend our sincere sympathy.

CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations are extended to Mrs Maureen Delaney Lacca who recently celebrated her 90th birthday in Abbeyleix hospital. Maureen is a patient there for some time but is able to come out home for short spells as her husband is still there hale and hearty. They have a big family who are very good to them, but all have their own families to take care of.
COMMUNION
The following children received their Holy Communion in St Fergals Church on Sunday last at 10.30am. Mass celebrated by very Rev. Fr John Lalor. This was surely one of the biggest classes to receive it if not the biggest. The children were Andrea Scully, Blathnaid Bennett, Elaine Cuddy, AlannahCummins, Greta Durward, Claudine Moore, Paddy Sheeran, Fionn Dowling, Trevor Abbott, Scott Coyle, Ryan Cuddy, Darren Delaney, Triona Chambers, Chelsea Dooley, Errin Cummins, Aine Higgins, Edel Ryan, John Nolan, James Moore, Andrew Clark, Greg Cuddy, Scott Cuddy, Eamonn Dooley. The children were dressed to the last and were all very good, each child had a part to play and they did it perfect. The choir was as usual perfect also. So it was wonderful day in the life of this parish and Killanure children will receive their holy communion next Sunday at 9am mass. Although the numbers will be smaller the ceremony will be the same and the same amount of preparation will have to be done.
FOROIGE
24 young adults accompanied by 4 leaders travelled to the HYPE festival in Longford on Saturday May 19. A great day and night was had by all. The young people were a credit to their parents and their club. Many thanks to our leaders Danika Amy Rachel and Sadie (and Sean who was with us in spirit) for travelling with us. On Friday May 25, the end of year achievements night and disco will be held in the GAA centre in Portlaoise, please contact the number given to you by Wednesday 23 as we need to book transport.
