CLODIAGH PLAYERS

The Clodiagh Players Drama group will have their AGM on Wednesday February 13 at 8:15 pm in the Parochial Hall. Registration of €5 will take place on the night. If you are unable to attend but wish to be included in the spring programme please contact Annette Doolan on 087-988-1046.

TABLE QUIZ

The Clonaslee Show Society is hosting a table quiz on Friday February 22 in The Swan. Come join us for a night of craic and great raffle prizes.

THANKS

Thank you to all who sponsored and participated in the Croagh Patrick climb in May 2012 in memory of James Dunne. €1,700 was given to the Oncology Unit in Tullamore Hospital to assist with their efforts with cancer patients in Vietnam. A further €1,700 was given to the Cuisle Centre, Portlaoise who offer support to cancer patients and their families. The family thank everyone for the support received on the day as there was a large turnout. The Croagh Patrick climb will be undertaken again in May. If you wish to receive sponsorship card please contact Becky Dunne on 087-956-7208.

DANCE CLASSES

Learn how to dance with Maureen Culliton on Tuesday nights from 8pm – 9:30 pm in the Community Centre. No need for a partner. Everyone is very welcome to join.

REGISTRATION

Membership registration day for St Manman’s GAA is on Sunday February 24 at 11:30 am in the Community Centre. All players and members must be registered.

ROUNDERS

Clonaslee St Mamman’s senior ladies, mixed ladies and men’s Rounders Club. Training will commence every Tuesday night in astro pitch at the Community Centre from 8-9 pm every week from January 29. All new members very welcome. We look forward to seeing some new faces. Closing date for all new members is February 12 for training purposes. CCE SINGING AND MUSIC

Singing classes are on Fridays and continue weekly in Scoil Bhríde with a cost of €3 per class. All are welcome. Music classes are on every Thursday in the Community Centre 6 to 8 pm for beginners and advanced, adult and children. Cost is €50 for 10 weeks which is payable in advance or weekly. If there is anyone wishing to take part in the Laois Fleadh Cheoilmembership is now due €6 per child, €12 for adult and €20 for family. PILATES

New programme on Wednesdays at 8 pm in the Heritage Centre. All new members welcome. Pay each night.

Ministerial visit

The Minister for the Enviornment and Local Government Phil Hogan was given a big welcome in Clonaslee last week when he offiicially opened the new integrated wetlands.
