POST PRIMARY CHANGE

The National Parent’s Council Post Primary will host an information evening for parents on the new Framework for the Junior Cycle, beyond 2014, on Thursday 14th March in Laois Education Centre, Block Rd., Portlaoise. If you would like to attend this important information evening on the upcoming changes to the Junior Cycle, please email information@npcpp.ie to register. The meeting will begin at 7.30pm with refreshments from 7.00pm and will conclude by 9.15pm.

MENTORING PROJECT

The Le Chéile Mentoring Project is looking for both men and women to volunteer with vulnerable teenagers in the Midlands. For just a couple of hours a week, you can make a real difference in the life of a vulnerable teenager. CASTLECUFFE NS ENROLMENT

SCOIL BHRÍDE ENROLMENT

The village primary school is currently endeavouring to determine numbers for the school year 2013 –2014. It is imperative that parents of all Junior infants for September 2013 contact the school in writing over the next few weeks. Please give details of child’s name, address, date of birth and PPS number and your own contact number. Actual forms will be given later in year.

PARTY TIME!

CLONASLEE ICA

Hairdresser Ann Marie Comerford from Cheveux Tullamore has been booked for our meeting on Wednesday March 13 at 8 pm in the Community Centre to give a talk on looking after your hair. Also a nail and makeup technician will be here. This is an open meeting so everyone is welcome to join in.

BICENTENARY CONCERT

A concert to celebrate Bicentenary of St Manman’s Church Clonaslee is planned for Friday May 24. We have eight different performers, both local and further afield, singing a variety of music on the night. Mark this date in your diaries for a special night of entertainment.

DANCE CLASSES

Learn how to dance with Maureen Culliton on Tuesday nights from 8pm – 9:30 pm in the Community Centre. No need for a partner. Everyone is very welcome to join.

DRAMA FESTIVAL

The following plays will be part of the festival which starts on Friday March 8 and runs to Friday March 15. ‘Sharon’s Grave’, ‘The Hen Night Epiphany’, ‘Dancing at Lughnasa’, ‘Eden’, ‘Sive’, ‘All My Sons’, ‘The Goat or Who Is Sylvia’, ‘The Loves of Cass Maguire’. Each show starts at 8 pm sharp in the Community Arts Centre, Mountmellick with nightly tickets €10.
