REHEARSALS are getting very intense as scenes are being polished to perfection in this last build up to Coláiste Phobals production of the old family favourite ‘Oliver’. The set is being built and painted so its all systems go.

A huge amount of work is going on backstage in organising this production and this would not be possible without the help and dedication of staff. The show is scheduled for three nights on Wednesday November 28, Thursday November 29 and Friday November 30. Tickets are available from the school office at 0505 23939. Early booking is advisable to avoid disappointment as it is expected that these tickets will sell out fast.

On October 26, Ms.Watkins’ first year computer class of Lough Neagh took part in a poster competition. The competition involved each student designing a poster that best described their computer class group and the relationship they have in the group. To say the end results were excellent is only one word that could used to describe the standard that was produced.

The students put themselves wholeheartedly into the task with several re-doing their entry to improve the end result. This competition did more than just reveal great posters, many students helped others improve their efforts and shared ideas which lead to enhance the atmosphere in the group.

In the end there had to be a winner so first prize went to Levente Nagy who made a heartwarming poem about the computer group and surrounded it by lovely graphics. Second prize went to Margaret Harty for the positive message about the class and design and third prize went to Stephen Monahan for his positive happy design and use of colour. There were runner up prizes for everybody in the class and Ms Watkins was very proud of all the effort that was put into the task.
