Classes in set dancing continue in Behans of Tolerton every Thursday commencing at 8.30pm

ROSARY

The rosary is recited at Our Lady’s Shrine, Rossmore, each Sunday at 3pm.

WHIST

Top score at Newtown whist on Saturday was won by Seamus Hennessy. 1st lady Mary Quigley 2nd lady L Hunter. 1st gent Christy Maher 2nd gent Eliz Coffey. 1st half Rita Brennan 2nd half Kit Farrell. 1st quarter Damien Carter 2nd quarter: Betty Shore. Raffle winners were Maureen Coady, Mick Mooney, Eliz Coffey, James Kealy and Ann Marie Carter. Whist continues as usual on Saturday.

LADIES CLUB

Monthly meeting was held recently in Newtown School. Raffle winner was Catherine Connery. Competition winners were Anna Mary Mullins and Rita Brennan. Guests for the evening were Winifred Roche, Margaret Dowd and Francel Purcell.

CRETTYARD GFC

Last week’s winners in the Crettyard Footballers Lotto were Ahane and Arion, c/o Jimmy Whelan, Christine and Pul Devlin, Cialan Patterson, Monavea. The winning numbers were 19-22-24-27.

MR MARTIN FENNELLY

The death took place recently of Mr William Condron, Hollypark, Crettyard. His remains were removed to St Abbans Church, Doonane, where they were received by Fr Denis Murphy, PP. Burial took place in adjoining cemetery after requiem mass. Sympathy is extended to his wife, family, relatives and friends.
