The parents council of Scoil Naomh Eoin Killenard are holding their AGM on Monday October 8 at 8pm in the hall, all are welcome.

Killenard parents council are holiding an information evening on Thursday October 4 in the school hall at 8pm. The topic is ‘Building Confidence in Children’. The talk will be facilitated by Mary Briody, parent mentor and child and adolescent therapist. Light refreshements will be served. All welcome, admission €5.

Emo author

Well done to Emo man Cormac Moore on the recent launch of his book ‘The GAA vs Douglas Hyde’. The book was launched in Croke Park last week and is available now from all good bookshops.

TRAILS DAY

As part of National Trails Day next Sunday, October 7, there are two free events taking place in Emo. The first is a family friendly 4.3km hike around Emo Court Demesne, meeting at 10.30am at the lodge at village entrance gate to Emo Court. The walk will last about 1.5 hours, and is suitable for buggies and families with older children.

An Autumn Forage Walk is also on offer. Families can explore and discover how Autumn changes the flora and fauna of the woodlands. Under the guidance of a knowledgable guide, they will gather samples in forage bags and play nature detective with magnifying glasses. Meet at Emo Court car park at 10.45am near the tea rooms for this family friendly event.
