EMO KILLENARD

ICA

Emo ICA members held their February meeting in the Gate Lodge. A vote of sympathy was passed with the Stronge family on their recent sad bereavement. Mary Stronge was a former member of Emo ICA.

An Irish night is planned for March 15 in The Gandon Inn and a good night is assured. Next meeting on second Wednesday in March in the Gate Lodge and new members always welcome.

COMMUNITY GAMES

County cross-country trials were held in Stradbally Hall on Sunday February 17 at 11.30am. We had four children competing on the day, Eddie Allen, Rebecca Balfe, Aoife Mooney and Emma Doyle, and all athletes did really well. Eddie Rebecca and Aoife all qualified for nationals. In general, it was a very poor turn out considering they were county trials, a number of areas were not represented at all and we have some very fine cross country athletes in our county. It’s a real shame they did not turn up to compete as our county teams would have been a lot stronger.

EMO GAA

Development draw results: €500 Ivan Strong, €200 Susan Wilkonson, €100 Damien Fitsgibbons, Danni Allen, Finn Lawlor.

County board tickets are now on sale for the 2013 Laois GAA club members draw.

Parents and guardians are reminded that mouth guards are compulsory for all juvenille players, up to and including minor level players. Customised mouth guards are available from local dentists or sports shops.

Emo GAA club membership is now available, membership is €10 for the year, you can get your membership card from Donna, Eamon or any committee member.
