Maryboro’ ethal box removed

The Council of Justice to Animals has decided to remove the lethal box which the Society had lent for use in Maryboro’ and the neighbourhood, on being informed that it has not been used much on account of the difficulty experienced in inducing owners of animals to believe that is the most humane method of disposing of old, sick and unwanted cats and small dogs, when necessary.

Vicarstown Birth

Luttrell--December 3rd, 1912, at Rossmore, Vicarstown, the wife of William Luttrell, of a daughter.

Texas calling

Heirs wanted. Any information as to the Heirs of William Coote, a native of Ireland, who in 1835, settled in Texas, and acquired land there, would be esteemed, and would be to their advantage. It is believed that he returned to Ireland, and his heirs would be entitled to his lands in Texas. Replies may be addressed to Mr W. D. Soccer

Maryboro’ v. 4th Leinsters. Played at Maryborough on Saturday, 30th November, and resulted in a win for the military by four goals (Gleeson 2 and Mansfield 2) to nil.

Hockey concert

The Committee of the Mountmellick Hockey Club may well congratulate themselves on the success which attended their first grand concert, which was given in the Owenass Hall, Mountmellick, on Friday evening. The concert was organized chiefly by Mr. and Miss Lawson, Mr. Warke, and Miss Nelligan in aid of the hockey club recently started in Mountmellick.

Marriage

Fashionable Intelligence. The marriage arranged between Wm. Claude, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. William Perry Odlum, Huntington, Portarlington, and Doris Gwendoline, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank S. Barnett, Mosley, Worcesthershire, will take place on Tuesday, January 7th.
