PIONEER PILGRIMAGE

Annual pioneer pilgrimage to Knock Shrine on Sunday July 15. Bus will leave Mountmellick at 8am, Portlaoise at 8.30am, Mountrath Church Yard at 9am and Ballyfin GAA centre at 9.10am. Contact Betty 0 Rourke Mountrath on 87 32531 to book a seat at cost of €20 per person.

GARDENING CLUB

Following our great outing to two gardens in Abbeyleix this month we have another planned for July. On Tuesday July 10 we will visit Nancy Costellos garden in Clonaslee, meeting in town at 2pm. All are welcome. Phone Darina on 086 3618854 if you have any questions.

CROAGH PATRICK CLIMB.

The Moore family 5 Woodbrook would like to thank everyone who donated to their sponsored walk fund which was a wonderful sucess. The climb was in aid of St Vincent’s Hospital in Mountmellick, where their mother (Eileen) was a patient for four years. 31 climbers successfully carried out the task. To the sponsors of the climb a big thank you, to Brendan Peters, Micheal Dowling and thanks to all the climbers as well. The total sum raised was €4770.

Till next year thanks to all once again.

ST AENGUS LOTTO DRAW

The wining numbers for the June 19 were 06, 10, 17, 21. There was no jackpot winner. Next week’s jackpot stands at €20,000. The promoters prize was won by H. Ryan, D. Phelan.

PARISH LOTTO

The winning numbers for the June 21 were 01, 04, 14, 27. There was no jackpot winner. There were 21 match 3s won €48. There no jackpot winner.

ST FINTAN’S GAA

The numbers drawn for the June 11 were 11, 19, 21, 22. There was no jackpot winner. Next week’s jackpot for June 25 is €10,200. Tickets can be got from any promoter. Promoters prize was won D. Tobin, D. Wrest.

HOMEMADE JAM

The sale of homemade jam continues in Costcutters and in Phelan’s shop in Castletown. The proceeds of this goes to the the Cuilse Centre Portlaoise. You support is greatly needed. Thanks to all who have supported.

BUS TO CLONFERT DAY OF PRAY & HEALING

Bus to Clonfert day of prayer and healing in Emmanuel house of Providence Ballinasloe Co Galway which is going to be led by Eddie Stones& team on Saturday June 30. TIDY TOWNS

The Thursday 7pm litter pick-up is going well, thanks to all our volunteers throughout the town who can be relied upon to keep their own area clean along with helping their neighbours as well.

OLD TIME DANCING

Every Sunday night in Portlaoise GAA Centre from 9.30pm for only €7. Music will be supplied by Uniity this coming Sunday night, July 1.

OUTDOOR GYM

The outdoor gym in the local amenity park can be used by all ages. We would encourage all local clubs and groups to use this facility.
