Mountrath Ladies Football Club have re-scheduled their Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, January 30 at 7pm in Eddie Phelan’s. It is vital for parents of girls who are playing Ladies football to attend this meeting as their support and commitment to the Club is so important. We would encourage all parents to attend and any other adults who would be willing to help in maintaining a great club for girls in Mountrath & surrounding areas.

School Enrolment

Enrolment for boys and girls starting school in September, 2013 at St Fintan’s Primary School and Scoil Bhríde will take place during the week February 4–8 between 12 pm and 3 pm. Parents should call to the respective school to register and collect enrolment forms. Please bring Birth/Baptismal Certificate when calling to school.

COUCH TO 5k RUN/WALK

A group from Mountrath are now into their 3rd week of training and there is still time for people to join in. Training sessions are Tuesdays & Thursdays meeting up in Castletown outside the ICA hall at 7pm, and on Sunday mornings either outside Costcutters at 10am or Castletown ICA hall at 6pm. All are welcome, call Doreen on 0879305400 for further information.

The knitting club continues to meet every Friday morning 10:30-12:30pm all welcome.

LATE JOHN KIELY

Condolences to the family of the late John ‘Joe’ Kiely of Shannon Rd, Mountrath who died on January 21 peacefully in the loving care of the Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise. Deeply regretted by his wife Mary, daughter Agnes, sons John, Robert and Thomas, sister Sheila, extended family, friends, neighbours and colleagues. Reposed at Burke’s Funeral Home, Mountrath with removal to St Fintan’s Church, Mountrath for Funeral Mass last Thursday followed by Burial in St. Fintan’s Cemetery, Mountrath. Donations if desired to charity of your own choice.
