RTS Substation Action Group Public Meeting

The RTS Substation Action Group will hold a Public Meeting on Wednesday February 20 at 8pm in Ratheniska Community Hall. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss and provide details of the recent planning application lodged by Eirgrid in the Ratheniska, Spink and Timahoe area. We would hope that every home in the area be represented at this meeting to discuss the latest events in this process.

Money for Simon

Ratheniska Foróige Youth Club did a collection for the Midlands Simon Community recently. In this very difficult ecenomic climate they thanked all the people of Laois who contributed. Ratheniska Foróige recently presented a cheque for €3,482.50 to the charity.

PORTLAOISE PLOUGHING

The Portlaoise and District ploughing takes place this Saturday, Febuary 16 in Rathleague on Maher’s and Conroy’s. It will be sign posted off the N80 Portlaoise to Stradbally Road and the R426 Portlaoise to Timahoe Road. All entries must be in no later than Friday, February 15 and the match will start at 12pm sharp. For queries contact our secretary Mejella on 086-3101822. Results announced in the Rock Inn where a dinner will also be provided. The committee look forward to a successful match. The Laois Ploughing Dinner dance will take place March 16 in the Maldron Hotel. Tickets available from committee members or any county member. Park Ratheniska Awards and Club Night

Reminder to Park Ratheniska Ladies Gaelic Football club members and their families that the club’s awards night will be held on Fri February 22. The venue is the Gandon Inn. Kick off time is 8pm. All club members and their families are welcome and tickets are available from club officers. As well as medals for winners there is music, dancing and finger food for all. Medals will be presented to the U12’s and the Senior players on the night.
