Portlaoise Parish says children attending the Heath and Ratheniska Primary Schools will be given preference to their local ceremonies, but if they wish they may enrol for one of the ceremonies in the Parish Church. It is unlikely there will be room in the Heath or Ratheniska Churches for children attending other schools.

It is hoped that the four ceremonies in the Parish Church will attract roughly the same number but if there is a pronounced distortion in the numbers for a particular ceremony the parish says it will inform parents and give the option of changing ceremonies. Return enrolment forms to Kevin Coleman at the Parish Centre by Friday, October 5 2013.

The Parish invites 6th class pupils and parents to a meeting on Thursday, September 27 in the Parish Church from 7.30pm - 8.30pm. The meeting will outline the programme of preparation. Contact Kevin Coleman (Catechist/Pastoral Worker) at the Parish Centre on 057 86 21142 to arrange a meeting if unable to attend this Thursday or If there are other parents who would like to enrol their children.
