Bishop’s Vintage Visit

The Right Reverend Michael Burrows, Bishop of Cashel and Ossory, will be travelling in a variety of various vintage vehicles to every parochial unit in the diocese to raise awareness and to extra funding for two projects in Rwanda and Swaziland, under the heading ‘Educate for Life’. On Thursday September 20 he will be in Portlaoise, Mountrath, Rathdowney Abbeyleix and Stradbally. The venue in Rathdowney will be the Square outside St Andrew’s Church where we hope to have a vintage gathering at approximately 1.45pm.

Coffee Morning

To host a coffee morning on September 20 with the proceeds going to Laois Hospice, please contact Irene at 0505 46311. Your usual generous support will be greatly appreciated.

PARENT & TODDLER GROUP

The group meet every Friday morning in the Marion Centre from 10-12. All welcome parents, carers and minders with children from new born to pre-school. No joining fee, €3 per morning.

COMMUNITY CENTRE

A set dance workshop, ceili and old-time waltzing will take place in the community centre on Saturday, September 15. Music will be supplied by Danny Webster. Times for the set dancing are 11am to 4pm. Ceili and old-time waltzing from 8.30pm to 11.30pm. Both sessions suitable for adults and children over 8 years old.
