community Centre
The community centre held their AGM on Monday October 22. Officers elected were Chairman Seamus McDonald, Vice chairman Norman Graham, Secretary Lucy Conroy, Treasurer Martin Kelly and committee members Alva Keating, Martha Doolan, Pauline Conroy, Emma Daly, Eamonn Doolan, Lily Gorman, Betty Coffey, Michelle Bowe, Joan Kelly, Lizzie Jackson and Sheila Mahon. The newly elected chair paid tribute to outgoing chairman Martin Kelly, who he said has done trojan work in running the community centre since 1985. Seamus also thanked the committee for their hard work throughout the year especially Lizzie Jackson the care taker and looked forward to working with the committee over the next year. The committee would like to thank everyone who donated to their recent church gate collection we made €500.74. The support is greatly appreciated.
Comhaltas
Mountmellick Comhaltas will start an easy to learn Irish session called Cupla Focal after Halloween. It will run from 7:45-8pm each Tuesday. All ages welcome.
Ratheniska are holding an American Tea party on November 2 to raise funds for next years County Fleadh. It is hoped that each Branch will be able to take one table of 10 people. Tickets are 10 euro per person. Details at the classes.
