Zach Tuohy makes little Laois girl's day in Australia

A little Laois girl living in Perth, Australia was upset after Ireland lost to the Aussie's in an international rules games at the weekend.

Ireland supporter, Mia Ryan, was visibly upset after the match which can be seen in the pictures sent to the Leinster Express by her mother, Laurie Webb.

Little Mia wanted Ireland to win as she was born here in Laois and her nanny May and Grandad Richard live in Stradbally. She was kitted out and even had green and glitter in her hair to show her support. The game ended Australia 53-50 Ireland - 116-103 on aggregate.

Laois' Aussie footballing star, Zach Tuohy, completely turned things around and brightened Mia's day when he stayed back to meet her and pose for photos with her after the game.

Mia's mother Laurie said Zach cheered her up after a huge effort from Ireland.

"My daughter Mia Ryan got very upset after Ireland lost to Australia in the international rules game, her tears went away quickly after meeting Zach Tuohy," she said.

Tuohy went from playing GAA for Portlaoise and Laois, to starring for the Geelong Football Club 'Cats' was able to stop the tears and even get some smiles out of Mia again after the disappointing end result in the game.
