Laois produced an excellent second half performance to ease into the Walsh Cup Shield semi final with an eight point victory over DIT in Rathdowney.
Laois 1-24
DIT 2-13
The college side made life difficult for Laois early on but once the home side hit their stride in the second half, DIT had no response, with Willie Hyland and John Rowney getting some important scores.
Niall Rigney fielded a much changed side, with some of the newly introduced players taking their chance with impressive displays, in particular John Purcell, John Prior and Eoin Reilly.
The win here sees Laois set up a semi-final clash with All-Ireland champions Kilkenny next weekend.
