Portlaoise’s High Decibel win 2FM competition

PORTLAOISE rockers High Decibel have won the 2FM Breakfast With Hector bands competition by a public vote of 62%.

Going up against a band called Willing Fools, the lads won the competition on this morning’s show with the track ‘My Sharona’, after thousands of people voted in. They will be performing at this Thursday’s 2nd Chance Debs, which is taking place in the House Hotel in Galway.

The lads - Andy, Ger, Paul and Wayne - are popular in music circles in Portlaoise. All four are well known, accomplished musicians, who have been performing in the Laois music scene under different guises for the past number of years. The are known for their high energy sets as well as their eclectic mix of tracks, and are sure to bring the house down in Galway this Thursday.
