Talent on display in Mountmellick
The Titanic
THE current exhibition in The Gallery in Mountmellick Library is by the local boys’ national school, St. Patrick’s Boys NS, Mountmellick.
The boys have created a wonderful detailed exhibition on the Titanic including information panels on the building of the ship to its demise as well as information on the Irish passengers on board. The exhibition also includes large colourful collages and large models of the Titanic, the Library and civic offices, the RC Church, the Boys’ School and Emo Court, all of which were handmade by the pupils.
Titanic memorabilia are also on display along with maps and photographs. The exhibition will be on display until Thursday September 27 and is well worth viewing. Already there have been big crowds visiting the gallery to view the work and the reception has been great. The pupils have been working on the project for months and library staff said that a lot of hours had gone into the display. The pupils and teachers were praised for all their hard work.
