The Little Smoke launch EP

The Little Smoke

The Little Smoke

POPULAR Laois four piece The Little Smoke will this Friday night be launching their self titled debut EP. The launch will be taking place in the intimite surrounds of Kavanaghs from 9pm. Support on the night comes from well known local acts Nova Static and Boy Lights Fire.

The EP was released on August 31 this year. Anyone who is at a loose end this Friday night and wants to catch some great live homegrown talent should get themselves to this gig, as those who have seen the group can testify - they put on an energetic show with a fantasitc collection of songs to choose from for their set.

Formed in 2009, after a series of cover gigs the band regrouped and started fresh in 2010 as The Little Smoke with a solid devotion to original music. Having played many gigs intensively throughout Ireland, including venues such as Whelans, Crawdaddy, The Workmans, Cleeres, (Kilkenny) The Spirit Store (Dundalk), The Cellar (Galway) Sky Venue, Kavanaghs, (Laois) and many others, the band have earned a love for the stage and playing to audiences.

April 2010 saw the band win the prestigious UCD Battle of The Bands, and go on to play The UCD Ball sharing the stage with artists like Calvin Harris and Mundy. Their single ‘Run Through These Streets’ was the lead track of the compilation album ‘Connect One’ and received warm reviews from press and airplay from Midlands 103FM. In 2011, they played the Cosby Stage at the Electric Picnic to much acclaim. Tickets priced at €7 will be available on the door.
