Smile for a moment in local talent show

Secondary schools in Laois are coming together to support the Smile for a Moment talent show in Mountmellick this week.

The event has been organised by Mountmellick Youthreach Centre in aid of promoting positive mental health and suicide awareness in teenagers across the county.

The Smile for a Moment talent show will take place on May 17 from 12.30pm to 3pm in the Mountmellick Community Arts Centre. Each school is invited to submit an act to perform in front of three independent judges.

There will be guest performance by Adela and The Meanits and Mountmellick folk singer Emer Dunne.

Local businesses have sponsored the event by giving gifts for a raffle to be held on the day as well as Laois Credit Union. This is a great event for raising awareness on mental health and suicide support within Laois.
