Woo your Laois lover with romance

ROMANTICS across Laois have a wealth of places where they can woo their beloved this Valentine’s Day, according to Discover Ireland.

The tourism website listed a number of spots in the county which they think would be perfect for people to pop the question. Included on the list are the Slieve Bloom mountains where couples can head off on long romantic walks, while lovers of fishing (or those fishing for love) can head to the rivers Erkina and Nore.

Castle Durrow is also listed as an attraction as are the Heritage Trails in Laois. The county is described as “the backdrop for the perfect proposal”.

For those who want to venture further afield, other hot spots listed are, Malahide Castle, the Japanese Gardens, the Wicklow Mountains, Mizen Head in Cork, Lough Key in Roscommon, Connemara National Park, Salthill, and Dursey Island in Cork.
