The Music Generation Laois School of Rock and Pop is set to launch in the Portlaoise Youth Cafe on Saturday September 21.

The school, run by Music Generation Laois, will provide affordable group lessons in guitar (acoustic, electric and bass), drums and keyboards, as well as band opportunities. A team of fantastic tutors will work with young musicians, and instruments are available for hire.

According to Music Generation Laois Co-ordinator, Rosa Flannery, “There is huge interest in Laois about the launch of the School of Rock and Pop. We hope that this school will enable young musicians to get the support they need to develop their love of rock and pop, from total beginners to more advanced musicians”.

On Culture Night, Friday September 20, there will be a roadshow in Laois Shopping Centre where young people can come and try out some of the instruments from the School of Rock and Pop from 3pm to 5pm.
