The wait is over for Irish music fans as the three-day odyssey of sounds, sights and sensual delights that is Electric Picnic unfolds in the spacious grounds of Stradbally Hall.

Old favourites The Chemical Brothers and New Order rub shoulders with the likes of LCD Soundsystem and Lana Del Rey at the top of the playlist, with Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds also confirmed for the 2016 Electric Picnic, taking place from September 2 to September 4.

The lineup of international acts on this year’s spread is a who’s who of some of the top musical talents working today: The 1975, Nas, The Shins, Super Furry Animals, Skepta, Years & Years, Todd Terje, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, James Bay, Bats for Lashes, Animal Collective, Gavin James, Wolf Alice, Editors, The Avett Brothers, Wild Beasts, Glass Animals, Jack Garratt, Savages, Pantha Du Prince presents The Triad, Phosphorescent, Ezra Furman, Mount Kimbie, Daniel Avery, Blossoms, Aurora, NAO, Girls Names, Meilyr Jones, the Dublin Gospel Choir, Sample Answer, Talos, and King Kong Company.

Besides a feast for the soul, there’ll be sustenance for the body too, in the Theatre of Food, which returns for its sixth to Electric Picnic 2016, bringing its delicious smorgasbord of cutting-edge food demos, wired-up mixology, inspired culinary workshops, and far-out foodie tastings for Picnickers of all ages.

Also making a welcome return is the MindField spoken word tent, where audiences will find an oasis of literary readings, political debate, performance and more.

with an eclectic mix of electronic and visual arts from homegrown talent, emerging artists and a selection of international guests.
