ON Friday June 29 Riverbank Arts Centre will host ‘It Only Ever Happens In The Movies’. It Only Ever Happens In The Movies devised by Mikel Murfi and John Taite along with the cast of NYT 2011 was first performed by the National Youth Theatre in the Peacock Theatre in August 2011.

The play is about love, teenage love. Sixteen year old Derek is pretty useless with girls, he believes that life and love should happen exactly like it does in the movies. This is a boy meets girl story with the help of Boys and Girls (and a movie star!). Griese Youth Theatre take Derek on his quest for Love.

Griese Youth Theatre is in existence since 1999 and is committed to producing high quality drama with plays exploring the concerns and passions of young people.
