This year’s Leaves Literary festival will once again be bringing a wealth of talent to various venues around Laois for a weekend of readings, music and more.
Taking place from Friday November 8 to Sunday november 10, festival events will be held in the Dunamaise Arts Centre, in Preston House in Abbeyleix, at the Arthouse in Stradbally and in Mountmellick LIbrary.
As well as plenty of readings and music, the festival is also playing host to a library reading in Mountmellick and will be organising workshops in schools.
On November 8 the Arthouse will host an evening of literary readings and music. This will feature Michael Harding and Rita Kelly and will be chaired by Mary O’ Donnell. Music comes from violinist Lily Kettle. On Saturday there will be a reading by Paul Durcan in Preston House, with music by harpist Claire O’ Donnell.
During the day on Saturday adult creative writing workshops with Rita Kelly take place at the Dunamaise Arts Centre from 11am to 4pm. Then at 4pm in the same venue, there will be a talk on Beckett by Dr Arthur Broomfield.
