The Mountmellick Folk Concert in conjunction with Frank’s Shed Recording Studio have recently announced two of the biggest names in Irish folk music will visit Laois for concerts.

On Friday December 6, Damien Dempsey will promote his new album in Mountmellick at the folk concert and March 28 will see Andy Irvine play his first Irish gig of 2014 in the Balcony Theatre. Two very big names for the Balcony Theatre and they are sure to be sell outs, so fans are advised to get their tickets early.

Damien will take to the stage with two fantastic support acts, the first of which is The Faherty’s from Portarlington. The second support is The Savage Jim Breem, a band from Kilkenny. March’s concert with the wonderfully talented and melodic Andy Irvine will see two local support acts, the first of which is well known songstress Elaine Lambe. The second support will be popular duo Cua. Check out Facebook for more.
