PAMELA Flood, former Miss Ireland and RTE Presenter will act as MC at the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ night in the Heritage Hotel, Portlaoise on Friday May 17.

Tickets are expected to sell out to see well known local Portlaoise members of the community dance to either the ‘Tango’, Charleston’ the ‘Jive’ or the ‘Salsa’. All dancers have been practising at least three times a week with professional choreographer, Helen Dunne and competition is heating up to see who will be win the much coveted €1,000 prize which the couple can donate to a club/charity of their choice.

The dancers include many well known local Laois people including Walla Brown, who is doing the Charleston with Mags Conroy, owner of ‘Smaointe’ and Joan White, famous of her annual panto appearances, who will be doing the tango with 78 year old Noel Ryan, from Stradbally. Noel commented: ‘I am having a great time with Joan at our dance lessons and we expect to blow you all away with our tango performance next Friday night. Tickets are on sale in Smaointe, Toymaster and The Square Bar in Portlaoise and are priced at €20 each. Ticket price includes receiving a free programme and free entry to disco following the event.
