DUBLIN born artist Carol Booth will be presenting her latest exhibition in the Dunamaise Arts Centre on Friday November 9 from 7pm and all are welcome to attend.

Carol is now living locally, having settled in Fruitlawn in Abbeyleix with her husband Arthur Shackleton. Her last successful show

was in the award wining library in Abbeyleix. Carol has a BFA from the National College of Art and Design. When she finisihed

in college she traveled extensively through Europe, France in particular, Mexico as well as living in California for seven years where she worked and exhibited.

The juxtaposition of pagan/Christian beliefs among the native Indians of Mexico had a profound effect on her work. The softer, natural rhythms of the seasons amid the lush green fields of the Irish countryside, where she has now made her home, continue to influence her work. She uses her travel experiences as a springboard to her work. The show will run in the centre for three weeks, ending on December 1.
