LOCAL man Fergal Bracken will be hosting a charity fundraiser this Friday night August 9 in the Square Bar in Portlaoise.

Fergal is heading to Uganda this November to help finish a school for the Children’s Educational Development Fund (CEDF) charity and ahead of this is hoping to raise much needed funds for them with a barbecue and music in the bar from 7pm.

Entertainment features f Brian O’ Mahoney and a few special guests and there will also be a special guest DJ to finish the night.

CEDF is a non governmental and non-profit organisation founded in 2007 to provide support to young people suffering from HIV/AIDS and other disadvantaged and vulnerable youths, through education and health care programmes in Uganda. The charity supports, educate and empower children and young people through the provision of sustainable education, medical and income enerating programmes.

It depends on volunteers, fundraising, and donations to support the charity. People can log onto http://www.mycharity.ie/event/feargal__brackens_event/ to donate money to the cause.
