The gallery at the library in Mountmellick is currently hosting a beautiful exhibition consisting of paintings based on the locality.

The gallery at the library in Mountmellick is currently hosting a beautiful exhibition consisting of paintings based on the locality.

The exhibition is by artist Paul Weerasekera who is a Limerick based artist.

He was born in Sri Lanka and educated in the UK, where he trained as an architect and studied Art and Design.

Paul has been living in Ireland for the past 25 years and has had numerous solo exhibitions.

His current exhibition in the art gallery of Mountmellick Library is titled “Paintings of Laois and Offaly” and contains beautiful acrylic on canvas scenes from both counties including from such areas as Rosenallis, Shannon Harbour, Tullamore and Stradbally.

The exhibition will run from September 3 to September 28 and all are welcome to attend during library opening hours.
