Mountmellick Camera Club had their 2014 calendar officially launched by Paddy Bracken, chairman of Mountmellick Town Council in the Hollow Bar recently.
On the night Paddy complemented the club on producing a calendar with local and Laois scenes and also the sponsors for supporting the calendar.
The calendar is on sale in O’Horain’s, O’Gorman’s, and M.J.Dunnes, Mountmellick or from any club member for €5. The response already has been very good with people looking to send them to relatives and friends abroad.
The club are also running their annual exhibition in the community school in Mountmellick from Friday November 15 to Sunday November 17 and all are welcome to come along and view over 150 images from the 20+ members.
Club chairman Dominic Reddin told the Leinster Express that the launch went very well adding that the calendar would make a perfect present for anyone with Laois connections.
“We tried to keep it Laois based this year and we have images from all our members. We decided last February or March that we would have a Laois theme. It will also be available at our exhibition.”
The club is always open to new members of any level and people can check them out on Facebook for more information.
