A Laois-based filmmaker will debut his new documentary about the graffiti scene in Ireland at two venues around the county this month.
Louis Vincent Deacy’s ‘Grafféire’ traces the heritage of Irish graffiti and examines its associated codes and conduct, and reflects on what compels graffiti writers to continue to do what they do.
Meticulously researched, the documentary contains candid never-seen-before footage shot on locations across the country. Intelligent, graphic and illuminating, this is a must see film for anybody who wants to understand the obsession that is graffiti.
The film was partly funded by a Laois County Council Arts Act Grant and will be shown at the Dunamaise Arts Centre at 8pm on August 22 and at the Arthouse, Stradbally, at 7.30pm on September 5.
