The Gandon Arts Group have found a new home for its activities in The Mountmellick Arts Centre, with a series of lectures planned for the autumn.

The Gandon Arts Group have found a new home for its activities in The Mountmellick Arts Centre, with a series of lectures planned for the autumn.

The lectures, ‘Benefactors of the National Gallery of Art’, commenced last Tuesday and will continue every Tuesday at 7pm with popular art historian, Dr Ciaran Woods. Tonight, October 28, the lecture will be on ‘The Beits & Russborough’, with further lectures to come on ‘Old Masters & New Money’, ‘The Miltowns & Russborough’, ‘The Grand Tour & Buying in Bulk’, and ‘Gifts which transformed The National Gallery’.

The group will also be showing the film ‘Cat on a Hot Tin Roof’ on Sunday, November 23, at 5pm, and their Christmas concert is set to take place on Sunday, December 14, at 5pm.
