The 65 Kitchen Choir are currently busy preparing for their tenth show, to be performed this December.

‘The Gift of Music and Christmas in The Kitchen’ will run on December 4/5/6, and tickets are currently on sale from the Dunamaise Arts Centre.

The choir are a Portlaoise community based group, led by musical director, Caroline Smith. Caroline teaches guitar to all age groups, young and old, in her kitchen in Marion Avenue, Portlaoise.

The choir was formed in 2005 and was born from the desire of local peopl to come together to play music and sing for fun. Over the years the choir has entertained packed auditoriums with their lively shows, and the proceeds from each show are always given to a local charity.

Last year, ‘Songbook with Christmas Crackers’ went fantastic, and the choir were able to donate some money to the Dunamaise. They recently held a show in the Dunamaise, and are now looking forward to the next one.
