MOUNTRATH native and RTE presenter Claire Byrne was the first to book a ticket as she launched Dunamaise Arts Centre last Friday night in Portlaoise.
Funded as a project by Laois Partnership, the website www.dunamaise.ie, features its Autumn 2011 programme of events. The site was designed by Modus Media in collaboration with the Dunamaise’ new box office. The service provider is Ticketsolve.
The website features many new aspects, including the capability of allowing people choose their own seats during online booking, and reminders of reservation timelines and the ability to avail of exclusive online discounts without hassle.
Louise Donlon, director of the Dunamaise said the website will benefit the centre.
“Focusing on our online activity will allow us to be a lot more flexible when it comes to booking events, and keeping people up to date with what’s going on. And, the major plus for the website is that people can now choose their own seats when booking online.
“It’s widely known that the arts can be very powerful - by addressing a fundamental need within us all to be creative. We need to pay attention to what helps keep us in balance, especially in these times of high stress living. The arts and creativity are fundamental to who we are as human beings, and our minds need nourishment just as much as we need food for the body,” she said.
Anne Goodwin, CEO Laois Partnership said it was good to be involved.
“We are very happy to be involved in this project and I would urge people to support what’s going on in our county and in the Dunamaise Arts Centre,” she said.
Modus (which is co-run by Portlaoise man Eamonn Donovan) came up with a fresh, contemporary design and system that can be managed easily by Dunamaise staff.
To celebrate the launch of the new website the Dunamaise are offering 10 per cent off all standard priced tickets when booked online by 12pm on Friday, August 20 (by using the password prnewweb).
