The GB Shaw Theatre in Carlow will be hosting Solpadeine Is My Boyfriend next month, on October 18.
Solpadeine Is My Boyfriend is about a new Irish generation. They were promised everything; a life of financial stability and job security but they now find themselves queuing either at the airport to emigrate or the social welfare office to sign on. It’s a generation that feel entitled not to experience depression, economic or personal, and whose availability to over-the-counter medication allows them to numb both.
Courtesy of Arts and Disability Ireland, this will be an assisted performance, with the option of audio description for any audience members who are blind or visually impaired, and captioning for people who are deaf or hard of hearing.
