AS part of the love live music day on Thursday, June 21 a group of musicians from Camross Comhaltas under the watchful eye of chairman Pat Collier gathered in the Poet’s Cottage in Camross for an evening of music, song and dance.
The night concluded with a cup of tea and some light refreshments it was just like the old days when they used to have the house dances with the logs burning brightly on the open log fire. Organisers thanked the ladies who made all the lovely buns, and said that a great night was had by all.
Those who would like to enjoy more of the same can come along to the Camross Inn this Friday July 6 at 9.30 for the start of the
Camross Comhaltas summer seisuin. It promises to be a great night of traditional music, song and dance. The first half of the show will be performed by the musicians from Camross CCE Branch.
Organisers would like to invite musicians from other branches to take part in the second half of the seisuin. Any other musicians are also welcome to come along and join in the session and have the craic. As organisers will be taking part at the set dancing competitions in Enniscorthy at the Leinster Fleadh on Friday July 13 there will be no seisuin that evening. It however run for the rest of the summer, including July 20, July 27, August 3, August 10, August 24 and August 31. Camross Comhaltas wishes all its competitors success in the Leinster Fleadh Cheoil in Enniscorthy which runs from Monday July 9 to Sunday July 15. It is hoped that they will succeed in making it through to the All Ireland Fleadh in Cavan in August.
