THOSE who didn’t get the chance to see the new Portlaoise Musical Society production at the weeeknd still have a chance to do so as the show is running all week in the Dunamaise Arts Centre until Saturday November 24.
This year the group are presenting ‘Singin in the Rain’, the classic performance which is sure to have the audience singing as much as the cast. As well as their usual high standard of performance and singing, the group also have a special treat this year when it rains on stage.
‘Singin’ in the Rain’ boasts a script hilariously parodying the Hollywood film industry’s awkward conversion from silent pictures to talkies. The story starts with Monumental Studios two biggest stars, Don Lockwood (Craig Regan) and Lina Lamont (Sarah O’Sullivan) making that transition as silent movie actors.
Tickets are selling fast and fans are advised to book as early as possible to avoid disappointment. Visit www.dunamaise.ie or contact the centre at 057 86 63355 for more details. The show runs nightly at 8pm.
