A host of music events take part in in Laois as part of Love: Music, Ireland’s National Music Day 2013.

CCE Camross is holding a trad music seisiún with Camross Comhaltas takes place at the Poet’s Cottage, Camross from 8-10pm.

CCÉ Spink is holding a session in The Old Rambling House Performer at the Old Rambling House, Spink from 7-11pm. CCÉ Portarlington take centre stage at the Parochial Hall in Port from 2-5pm on.

CCÉ Mountmellick will celebrate Irish Music at the New Library, O’Moore Street, from 4 to 6pm CCÉ Portlaoise perform Lunch Time Concert in Laois County Hall on James Fintan Lawlor Avenue, from 1-2pm.

Music Generation Laois/Na Piobairi Uilleann ‘Try the Pipes’ perform a Pop-up show at the Laois Shopping Centre in Portlaoise,from 3.30pm to 5.30pm

Music Generation and the Dunamaise Arts Centre host Music Box which is described as is a unique performance music education programme in Laois for children and young people with special needs. Performers include: ‘The Sparkles’ from St Francis School, Portlaoise, solo and ensemble groups : Rath NS, Ballybrittas, Kolbe School, Portlaoise, St Francis School, Portlaoise and St Patrick’s Boys NS, Portarlington.
