Laois band Adela and the Meanits will be taking their quirky and unique show to the green pastures of Stradbally for Electric Picnic when they will be performing on the Salty Dog stage.
The group will be taking to the stage at 9.25pm this Friday night and are hoping to see lots of local faces from the Laois contingent who are picnicing this weekend.
Adela and the Meanits consists of four well known accomplished musicians who came together four years ago. Electric Picnic holds special memories for the group as they performed some of their first gigs at Body and Soul in the Picnic. “It is nearly full circle for us”, said singer Adela Meally, a Cullahill native.
“It will be pretty cool performing on the Salty Dog - it is a deadly stage”.
As well as Adela, the band consists of bassist Barry Hayes, drummer Ros O’ Meara and violinist John Davidson. The group have had a very busy summer touring and gigging with their last local gig bringing the house down at the Frank’s Shed TV Festival. All four are hoping to see plenty of Laois faces come along to support them as they batten down the hatches and set their musical sails. To find out more visit their Facebook page.
