KILDARE born singer Michael English made his inaugural visit as ambassador to the Dunamaise Arts Centre recently. There he was presented with a certificate to honour his newly appointed position by Louis Brennan, chairman of the board of directors and Róisín McGarr, centre manager.
As ambassador to the Dunamaise, Michael will be a public representative for the arts centre and will promote its events. It is hoped that Michael can engage with the public and be a bridge between the arts centre and the communities in its surroundings. Michael will also make various appearances and perform at the Dunamaise over the coming months.
Michael English was somewhat of an overnight sensation when he arrived on the Irish country music scene from his home in County Kildare. Michael gained his original experience at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin and since then has went on to produce various albums and is currently one of Ireland’s biggest country music artists. Further details on Michael’s endeavours at the Dunamaise Arts Centre will be announced soon.
