Fans of Le Galaxie are in with a chance of seeing them on their doorstep in Portlaoise, as they could be playing a gig in Kavanaghs as part of the First Music Contact (FMC) tour.
But fans have the power to make this happen as they have to pledge to buy a ticket (priced at only €10) to see the band on November 15.
Kavanaghs are up against a number of other venues around the country for this gig, and only if they are announced as the gig hosts, will fans’ credit or debit cards be charged.
There are stops already booked in Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick and Dundalk but one date remains free: Friday November 15.
On that date The FMC Tour featuring Le Galaxie, Funeral Suits, Daithí and a local support will visit the play the venue in Ireland that displays the most interest.
Le Galaxie’s joyous, ceiling-melting live shows paved the blazing neon trail to the critically acclaimed debut album, 2011’s Laserdisc Nights 2, voted Entertainment.ie’s #1 Irish album of the year.
Meshing pounding techno rhythms, shimmering cyber-synths and cascading dream-streams of sonic guitar-wizardry, Le Galaxie have stamped their ‘grid vs guitars’ live dance frenzy on Ireland, UK, France, Sweden and Germany.
Each location will be competing against others around Ireland to land this gig and whoever gets the most amount of ticket pledges promised by Oct 28 gets the gig.
This pledging process has now started, and the venue hosting the show will be announced on October 28, with the gig happening on November 15.
The pledging software has been built by Gigstarter and allows people to pledge to buy tickets without their cards being charged.
Only when the location of the gig is confirmed will the pledgers for that gig be charged.
