There are plenty of activities taking place in Portlaoise this bank holiday weekend to keep Irish eyes similing.
As well as a number of trad sessions taking place, there is music throughout the town, from Friday evening right through to Monday. Friday sees popular singer Brian O’ Mahoney take to the Square Bar stage, and Down native Kieran Goss visit Kavanaghs. For those who want to travel further, acclaimed tribute act Daft As Punk will be in the Set in Kilkenny.
Clonmel’s finest Crow Black Chicken will be in the Square Bar on Saturday while on Sunday they will be hosting My Father the King and The Valves. Footstick and High Decibel will be making merry there on St Patrick’s Day. Mr Foley is on in the Dunamaise on Saturday, while on St Patrick’s Day, Transmitter are back to Kavanaghs for a free gig.
