From Clare to here for Laois youth

Laois Youth Theatre members have taken the first steps in an exchange with Clare Youth Theatre this week. A bus full of Laois Youth Theatre members travelled to Ennis in Co Clare to see Clare Youth Theatre’s show For One Night Only, and it was a fantastic experience for the group.

There was such a great mixture of excerpts from classic plays like John B Keane’s Sive, Brian Friel’s Dancing at Lughnasa and Martin McDonagh’s The Lonesome West and modern plays including Ordinary Teenagers are Ordinary written by a member of Clare Youth Theatre.

The entire day was great. One Laois Youth Theatre member tweeted about the experience “Today was awesome! I love youth theatre :) Ennis play was so funny : D”. This is just the first step in a full exchange programme between the two groups.

Up next Clare Youth Theatre will be coming to Laois to participate in a joint workshop and present a joint performance in a secret location. Laois Youth Theatre is run by Laois Arts Office, find out more on Facebook.
