The final event of the ACORNS pilot programme, designed for rural-based early stage female entrepreneurs, took place in the Heritage Hotel, Portlaoise on Tuesday, April 5.
ACORNS (Accelerating the Creation of Rural Nascent Start-ups) was funded under CEDRA through the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.
Participants from the midlands were supported by Volunteer Lead Entrepreneurs, Alison Ritchie, owner of Polar Ice, based in Portarlington and Anne Cusack, Managing Director of Kilbeggan business, Critical Healthcare.
Forty-four participants from across Ireland successfully completed the enterprise programme. Businesswomen from Laois included:
