Women entrepreneurs from Laois attended the June Meeting of the Laois Enterprising Women’s Network in the Killeshin Hotel recently.

Guest speaker on the night was Lorraine Murphy who is an advocate for networking and has a specific interest in supporting Women in Business and Female Entrepreneurs.

Lorraine was recently awarded the Global Essence Entrepreneur Award 2015. Speaking at the event, Lorraine encouraged those present to become confident and effective networkers as this is vital to creating more business opportunities.

The evening was well attended and gave those present the opportunity to see what Laois has to offer in terms of female entrepreneurs.

Exhibiting on the night were Kyra Fingleton who offers holidays with a difference with her ‘Glamping Under the Stars’ glamorous camping experience.

Also exhibiting were Louise Dent, of Flair Stitch Project, a dynamic embroidery company that uses the latest technology to deliver high quality embroidered products; Beatrice Walsh, Creative Designs, a milliner and artist, showcased some of her fabulous hats and Michelle deForge from the Dunamaise Art Centre who highlighted what they offer in this cultural and community hub in Laois.

The Laois Enterprising Women’s Network offers business women from Laois the opportunity to hear from inspirational speakers, learn from workshops, show-case their business in the EXPO that is held at each meeting and network to do business.

The next meeting of the Network will be held on Wednesday, September 14.
